Rebecca Battle-Bryant

Dr. Rebecca Battle-Bryant is president and owner of Battle Plan Consulting, LLC, which provides expert strategy and solutions for complex human resource and workplace issues.

Dr. Battle-Bryant is a proactive, results-oriented leader with a unique professional background, encompassing private industry, government, higher education, and policy development, with over 25 years of management experience in human resources, management/team coaching, training design and delivery; strategic planning, public outreach/speaking; and academic research in team behavior/development, partnerships/collaborations; and workforce development systems.

Dr. Battle-Bryant is a visionary leader and enthusiastic motivator with proven results in human resources; executive and team coaching; public outreach and presentations; strategic planning; training design and delivery; developing state workforce policy; and implementing workforce solutions. Dr. Battle-Bryant has the keen ability to translate a business vision and mission into key performance indicators to improve employee engagement, growth, and profitability. Her passion is workforce and developing collaborative business alliances, utilizing deep community roots and networking strengths, with private industry, trade associations, education, non-profits, and government organizations to build a thriving workforce.

Dr. Battle-Bryant is a certified facilitator and coach. She is certified in problem solving, process management, and self-directed work team theory and tools programming. Additionally, she is certified to deliver AchieveGlobal and Development Dimensions International (DDI) programs, in Leadership, Team Building, and Customer Service.

During her tenure at SCANA Corporation, she managed the corporate training department, which coordinated all employee training for the customer user system, customer service delivery, and total quality methods.  During her eleven years at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College (OC Tech), she offered individualized consulting and solutions for companies by developing and delivering training programs in the fields of Manufacturing, Construction, Healthcare, IT, and Transportation & Logistics with local and international companies. Additionally, she was an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina (USC) and OC Tech.

Dr. Battle-Bryant is a certified professional through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP). She has been involved in human resources throughout her career, assisting other companies with their employee engagement strategies to include training and workforce development initiatives; researching the intricacies of teams and the characteristics of most effective team members; and recruiting and retaining employees, in a highly competitive job market. Her most recent project formalized the human resource function within a family-owned organization, where she automated the recruitment and onboarding processes; developed policies & procedures reflective of a new organization structure; implemented a supervisory skills training program for supervisors; automated the performance management system to accommodate the geographic dispersion of employees; and formed a cross functional task force to address many corporate issues, to include market-based wage analysis and apprenticeship for craft workers.

Dr. Battle-Bryant formerly served as vice-president of Human Resources and Workforce Development at United Infrastructure Group, Inc.; assistant executive director, Workforce & Economic Development, at South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce; vice-president of Corporate Training & Economic Development at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, and in progressive management positions at SCANA Corporation in Customer Service, Corporate Training, and Call Center Operations.  

Dr. Battle-Bryant is a graduate of Auburn University where she received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing and Sales, and a Master of Business Administration.  She received a doctorate degree at the University of South Carolina in Higher Education Administration in 2009.

She is married to Drayton Bryant, has one daughter, Vivian, and a myriad of rescued dogs and cats, as well as songbirds and whatever else Mother Nature drops at her feet. Animal rescue and wildlife protection are personal passions, as well as being an avid runner, Pilates instructor, and Sudoku addict.
